We ALL know how powerful
President Obama is. Look at how he has forced his opposition to buckle down and get Obama's work done. We got the recent debt ceiling through EXACTLY as
the all powerful Obama commanded. We saw
the power Obama had during last year's election to exert his power on the Country to keep
BOTH HOUSES controlled by HIS people, and we know no court would dare declare the
Obama health plan improper...right?
Oh wait...didn't one of the courts just do that very thing?
And isn't Boehner, the red tinged Republican leader of the House of Representatives and Speaker of the House, with it's Republican majority butting heads with the President almost to the point one wonders what exactly they all think they were elected to do...stall the programs needed for the people while they exert their muscles?
And oh yeah the recent bill that DID pass for the debt ceiling crisis still does not authorize taxing the upper 2% that get all the loophole tax breaks anyway so nine times out of ten pay nothing...which I believe Obama wanted.
Omnipotent? Who says?
So today we have an earthquake here on the east coast and what are some loonies saying..."FIGURES OBAMA WOULD BE OUT OF D.C."
Uhmmm if President Obama really had that kind of power, he could just wave his hand and make Mother Nature and any one else do his bidding. Would the opposition have spent so much time gnawing away on the
BIRTH CERTIFICATE ISSUE?
I mean seriously...considering how contentious today's political atmosphere is, and any truth in Obama's lack of citizenry, this would not have been gleaned out by his very own party before the primaries? With the power of her position as former first lady, do you really think if Obama had not been legitimate,
Hillary Clinton would not have unearthed it?
Secretary of State Clinton has had to deal with scandals enough to know how to
ferret out any discrepancies long before the
Primary race came to its conclusions...AND given her experience with politically motivated scandal, would she latch onto the position of Secretary of State under a man who won't stand up under the proof test?
Obama leaves D.C. and tells his servant Mother Nature to cut loose on Washington in his absence. For what purpose? What benefit can he possibly glean from having
the Washington Monument closed until further notice?
Did the quake close down the Capitol? NO.
Seems to me the one act committed in recent memory that affected the balance in the House took place in Arizona when a mad man, riled for whatever reasons, chose to believe
Gabrielle Gifford was the source of political evil needing eradication. That she is a Democrat and not a vote President Obama would want silenced, seems to suggest his omnipotence is sorely lacking.
So what do I think?
Did Obama's predecessor cause Mother Nature to unleash her fury with
Hurricane Katrina? I don't remember hearing anyone accuse him of that. What I did hear was
President Bush's attention to it AFTER it did what it did, lacked much.
The damage from
this earthquake...can we compare it to the devastation of Katrina, or the policies Obama tried to enforce but was voted down by that so under his thumb Congress, when the
oil spill happened? I haven't heard people died, had their homes destroyed or the
ecosystem tarred and feathered.
Admittedly because I too felt the power of this quake...yeah, the pressure made me
nauseous, I have not followed every report...so maybe I am totally wrong in thinking compared to Katrina, this is a minor glitch, but whether it is a BIG deal or
a hiccup, I know President Obama does not have the power to decide on August 23rd,
Virginia is going to have an earthquake that would ripple and shake its way up the eastern seaboard and he is going to be vacationing in Martha's Vinyard.
I wonder if the people in
Canada think the President of the United States sent the quake their way too?
Politicians really think we should do that and be grateful when they f**k us. And none has my gander up more now than Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey. Republicans have a tendency to cater to the rich and shaft the poor, but this man has taken it to new heights!
He's screwed up left and right since taking office. We had, shortly after he became governor, terrible flooding here. The governor was nowhere to be found. NOWHERE! Turns out he was in Florida with his family on vacation and when informed of the natural disaster here, instead of returning to the state he continued his trip.
What was his justification? He'd promised his family this trip for awhile and it would be wrong to break a promise. Excuse me if I'm crazy, but didn't he take an oath when he took office that meant his duty to New Jersey was to come before all else? I mean, his family could have continued their little holiday and he himself could have just come back...but nooooo that would be asking too much of our elected official!
Then Mr. High & Mighty fills out the forms wrong to ask the federal government for all the funds NJ is entitled to. And he has the nerve to blame the president for HIS mistake. Meanwhile, on the state's dime he takes helicopters and limos to theater and sporting events.
Oh eventually he paid back the cost of ONE of his inappropriate trips but only after public outcry. And now he's f**ked me over royally. I'm disabled. I have severe epileptic seizures, so severe that if I ever hit two certain spots on my head again I will die instantly. Epileptics aren't allowed to drive for obvious reasons.
I got medical transportation through my secondary inurance. Well good old Governor Shaft The Poor decided that no longer would my transportation be provided by that insurance but instead would be outsourced to a company in Georgia. This company hasn't received notice that I require transportation with an EMT due to my seizures so they have downgraded me to regular medical transportation with a company called Elite.
Slight problem with Elite. The whole reason I was upgraded to EMT transport is because Elite refuses to allow me into their vehicles with seizures due to insurance issues. So, as of now I have NO transportation to medical appointments AT ALL! But Mr. Shaft The Poor has no such problems.
Just a couple days ago he was rushed to the hospital with breathing problems because he has asthma. In a public statement he praised the staff of the hospital and their high quality care. But me, a poor woman on disability has no such quality care and all because of him and his determination to get rich off the backs of the innocent.
And what has gone on in D.C. recently with the debt ceiling vote that threatened my disability check on top of all this is just one more reason that I think we'd all be better off if politicians could be thrown in jail every time they break they're promises to the people.
I was not alive during
World War Two.
I'm a baby boomer. None of us ASKED to be born, but once here we played by the rules.
I was born during one of the non-declared
POLICE actions that sure mimicked war, afterwards...but I have researched this Country's actions during that long war. I've even compared the reactions we had to the
Pearl Harbor assualt,
and 9/11.
After Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese Empire, every
man, woman, and child in this
Country
came together to respond.
Uncle Sam posters telling one and all that Uncle Sam wanted YOU went up and were responded to.
Rationing became
the norm rather than the exception, and no one gawked about doing their share.
Men went to war,
women went into the factories. Everyone stepped up.
9/11, in the days immediately afterwards, when we were all
stunned and
hurting, we walked around asking why, and how could we help?
Cars began proudly displaying the American flag, but
what other concessions did we as a Country make? The
huge surplus inherited by the administration had already turned into a deficit before the attack of 9/11.
How do you fund a war when there is nothing in the war chest or supposedly anywhere else to support it?
Rationing
was the answer...
rationing for
EVERYONE,
and history had shown the
Country would support going after the people responsible for this atrocity.
During the Second World War,
ALL Americans were called to protect and serve, but after 9/11, when all WANTED to do something, the powers that be determined the upper 2% must not be disturbed by the
ugliness of
war. The draft
was not reinstated...
rationing was not instituted, the people of this Country did not find "Uncle Sam Wants You Posters" everywhere. Instead for public schools
to continue getting federal funding to educate the young and the future of this Country,
military recruiters had to be allowed to go into our schools,
without notifying parents, and
sign our poorest up to go and die for a Country that was founded on
EVERY MAN BEING CREATED EQUAL.
May I just revert to a part of me that I try very hard not to let loose...

Here we are nearing the decade anniversary of that horrible assault, and I ask how many of the people inside the
Washington
Beltway, present and past, have had any member of their family over their fighting what has turned into THIS generation's
Viet Nam?
Where has the money come to fund this war that
turned its eye away from those really responsible for 9/11?
We heard how important fighting in Iraq was to our National Security, not one of those telling us that thought it important enough to send members of their own family's over to engage the enemy.
Where did the money come from? Given the staggering numbers connected to the deficit, not from our own resources.
Why am I writing this now?
Today I learned the Government is going to rework the formula for giving Social Security recipients their
cost of living increases.
For the past several years Social Security recipients have not received ANY
cost of living increase at all.
We've been told the cost of living has remained in stasis...Am I the only one who's noticed the cost of
EVERYTHING has not stayed static but
skyrocketed?
Two years...where did the money from THAT
sacrifice go?
We watch the billions being tossed out there every year for potential candidates to run for office. THEY can find
money for their needs, but once they're in, they can't find the money to do the jobs they're elected to do.
Once upon a time, this Country pulled together and because of that cohesiveness, proved it was worthy of being a
World Power.
Those that today make up that 2% and control the big money, should be ashamed to live in the lap of their
loopholes of luxury, while the elderly, upon the backs of whom the Country rose up and won against the
maniacal aggressors, are the ones that should be raped of the benefits they worked and fought for?
This is wrong! If you have to cap something, cap the amounts the politicians can spend on their elections. Re-instate the draft and make
the consequences of war, universal. (Those who stand to lose their loved ones are less eager to fund and support useless wars.)
We never belonged in Iraq, but we dropped the ball on where we DID belong, telling the world we, the US people are capricious about war, life, and accountability.

Our elderly and
disabled deserve NOT to be the
scapegoats for the arrogant
incompetence and
greed of the government.
FDR created
Social Security and
President Eisenhour said only a
FOOL would mess with it...so to our current leaders, STOP BEING
FOOLS!
